First suggestion is if you're still having to take ibuprofen, and from the history in the rest of your post, don't try to climb
. Talk to your physio, try getting them to refer you to a foot specialist. There are some specific stretches for your foot/ankle which may help, again under specialist advice. The nice thing about these stretches is you do them sat down.
I got quite a few of these type of injuries whilst ballet training. They took about six weeks to recover enough to do class or climb; with regular physio and at least the first week with a walking stick or on crutches. I found alternating cold and warm water foot baths helped. For the first month usually the only exercise I did was upper body yoga and swimming(I loathe swimming
)
Be careful with foot injuries the foot is a very complex and easily damaged appendage. I know we usually have two feet but we need them both to work, every day and pain free (mine are a bit of a mess but mostly pain free these days).
Good luck Chips
