TCA Glasgow Opening Weekend has Arrived
October 20, 2011, 09:57:19 am
The Climbing Academy has now arrived in Glasgow and will open it's doors at 12noon this Friday 21st October.

TCA have an established wall in Bristol and following this success Directors Rich Emerson and Paul Twomey have expanded operations to Glasgow which takes the bouldering experience to another level. With over 1100 sq m of climbing surface incorporating a huge variety of shapes and angles, TCA Glasgow is set to become a world class dedicated bouldering facility.  Housed in the the old print works of the News International building in Kinning Park, just off the M8, TCA Glasgow will provide everyone the opportunity to take up bouldering or progress their climbing to new levels in a welcoming relaxing atmosphere where you can also enjoy a great cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Friendly staff managed by Rob Sutton and Alan Cassidy will be on hand to help you browse through the shop, discuss how to solve a problem or chat about what adventures bouldering can take you on.

Jen Randall has captured some of the climbing and atmosphere at TCA Glasgow in the following video:

Assuming this should be in the sponsors section and that we'll see a banner soon?

Visited this at the weekend. Best wall in the UK. Only gripe is not every problem gets a grade, and the colours have quite a grade range.  All problems on the 'comp' wall are graded though.

So Scotland now has the best lead wall and the best bouldering wall in the uk.

Cheers Adam, that's high praise from someone as knowledgable and well travelled as you.

In addition isn't Kinlochleven the world's biggest indoor ice climbing facility?

Ratho has a lot of good youngsters, hopefully TCA will build on what the GCC has done with Glasgow kids and get some seriously strong Scottish youths coming through.
