Hi Everyone

was looking for a little help, im heading up to yorkshire to sample some yorkshire grit and limestone for a change from the peaks, i will be travelling up from norwich but really need to pick up some new gear !!!! was wondering about any good shops close to the malham area as thats where we will be staying !!!

There may be others, but Inglesport in Ingleborough should have most things you will need.

No you are asking. I think a topo exists somewhere for some stuff at Kilsey, but no idea where. Best stick to the grit, enough to keep you busy for a lifetime or two.

I think there's a climbing shop in Skipton too.

one more quick ? on the grit bouldering, i have the guide vol 1 but was looking for a pointer or 2 of a few must do problems !!!!

Not sure what's in which guide, what grades you looking for and at what crags specifically? Similar questiosn have been asked on here before a few times, worth looking back.

i was looking for stuff at ilkley almscliffe and caley mainly any grade really upto 7a+ !!!!

I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't be doing but you do realise that if you are staying near Malham there are at least a half a dozen excellent gritstone crags a lot closer than those 3?

no dont worrie about telling me what to do, its my first trip upto the yorkshire area so all the info i can get the better !!!! is there some places that you would recommend and some awesome problems ???

i like all kinds of problems but slabby , or balancy ones are my favorite ????

Have a look at the map I sent you a link to above.

Rylstone, Earl Crag, Widdop, Crookrise or spending a long day wandering between Lord's and Simon's Seat will provide you with great days out.

There's a good little shop at the Harrogate wall.  It's not all that close to Malham, but it is very close to the grit (Almscliffe is 7 mins away)
