well I spoke to the glentress girls last week and thought it only fair to share the info with you guys given the way the last thread went, especially for JH.
Well it seems that their tender was refused because they based their offer on how much they believed the contract to be worth based on the figures they have gathered themselves with regard to people passing through the cafe etc...
Anyway long story short... the FC wanted offers to be based on projected figures and hence its all gone tits up for the girls and thats the reason they lost the deal, rather frustratingly actually because in my view, Glentress without the girls facilities would have just been Innerleithen... well, at least that desert of a carpark.
Dont worry though, even though they wont be in the cafe anymore, there is something else on the horizon for them : ) watch the usual spaces for more info! : )
