Happy Birthday Bob - even if  he'd probably tell you to fuck off for mentioning it.

How has this had no replies?!

UKB demographic not as ardent Bob-cats as children of the 50s and 60s?

The three 1960s amphetamine albums are essential, and still get played at chateau duncan, I'm a qualified admirer of the rest.

I have been enjoying the documentaries on TV recently. Been listening to his music for ages but didn't know a great deal about him. I had heard the Judas episode on the bootleg series but hadn't seen it. Also loved Bob's reaction to getting asked stupid questions by journalists.

Top man.

Really love the first seven albums, get a little bit lost after that!  Great doco on R4 yesterday about the religious influence in his music

there was something on the tv sat night i watched while pissed (luckily recorded it for sober viewing) about the 60's folk americana and the civil rights movement. Very very interesting watching, particularly interviews with Robbie Robertson about his/their time with Bob and later work.

i second the motion

When I first read Andy's post I thought it was about some old climber in Sheffield that I didn't know. I was so embarrassed when I realised what he was talking about that I didn't post anything.   :-[

Now after a couple of glasses of wine I wish the great man a happy birthday for yesterday.

Blood on the tracks is probably the album album I've played the most in my life, seen me through some good times and some bad. I really should catch up on some of the later ones.

Happy birthday to any old climbers in sheffield called Bob too.   :P
