Eastern Moors - Update
April 18, 2011, 10:40:29 am
Went to the first of the Eastern Moors stakeholders meetings on saturday.  On the whole, a really positive meeting.  Really encouraging on two fronts from the MBing perspective.  They're looking at creating a pretty impressive circular route for MB's in the future which will largely avoid roads.  It will encompass Totley, Big Moor, Baslow, Curbar, Froggatt and back to Totley.

Secondly, and most importantly, they seem to have a more enlightened attitude than SCC!  Trails will be multi use but they're not intending to flatten existing trails to make them sutiable for horses, walkers, wheelchairs etc etc.  The plan is to retain the natural technicality of trails while creating parallel trails for other users.  Sounds like it's too good to be true, but they seem sincere in their desire to keep everyone happy if poss.  Watch this space....   ;D
