Where in Wales tomorrow?
April 15, 2011, 11:13:44 am
Where should I go bouldering in Wales tomorrow? Forecast suggests somewhere out of the two main mountain valleys. Close to road as I will have a no doubt bored and whingeing teen with me, nice spread of easy to moderate problems?

Cave, apart from the easy to moderate bit.

RAC boulders, pretty much roadside, lots of problems from V1-V5 with a few trickier ones thrown in.

RAC boulders? (I think...) Nice spot 1 min walk in - cafe 5 min up the road.

I'll be heading to Harmers c.10:30-11 if that falls through...

Angel bay? Tide is high at 10 am so pm should be good as long as there is a wind (onshore is best)  bit of a marmite venue...

Cheers everyone - RAC does appeal. Only ever been there for the routes many years ago.

Tom, I'm going to Wales for a do in the evening but might still succumb to the lure of Harmers if you're going to be there.

I don't think there's enough harder stuff at RAC for you Andy. Would Caseg Fraith / Gallt Yr Ogof be getting the bad mountain weather?

That's very flattering of you Grimer - but I think you are sadly mistaking me for someone who used to be able to climb ok.

Go to RAC and if it does rain, which it might, switch to this freshly spruced venue above Cwm y Glo:

I guarantee that it won't rain there tomorrow.

Clegir turned out to fit the bill perfectly. A really nice compact but varied set of problems in a quiet but accessible setting. Really good.

T'was a bloody gorgeous weekend in N Wales, Saturday at Dinorwic, yesterday at the Cromlech, perfect.  If only every weekend were like that!
