This might not be to everyone's taste of course but I just got back from seeing Mike Skinner and The Streets live at the Academy in Manchester and they were fucking fantastic.  It was a proper gig, mental, crazy, almost out of control, joyful and melancholy.  This is his/their last album and tour and well worth making the effort if you can make it to a town or City nearby.

IMHO Skinner is cut from the same cloth from the classic British singer/songwriter/performer tradition ... don't miss

He's a genius (misunderstood by a lot of people).  I know loads of people rave about Original Pirate Material but for me A Grand Don't Come For Free is one of the best albums ever made.
