Hey all, I'm currently trying to find a nice spot in the Lakes for a long weekend away with the girl. I know Keswick, Ambleside, Windermere etc etc but was hoping some well travelled folk on here may know of any particularly stand out spots, semi busy and not too isolated but not nuts either. Any accomodation recommendations?? Thanks

Conniston is nice, I stayed in one of the just outside Conniston for a week a year or so ago which was very nice.  Two pubs both doing nice food <2minutes away and a pleasant 30ish minute walk into Conniston itself.  Booked through Coppermines Cottages who have tons of places in the area.
