Injured my finger around ten months ago and i am still having trouble with it now.
I took 3 months of complete rest when i first did it as it was so painfull, gradually eased back into climbing over a long period and it seemed to be OK for a while despite never being completely pain free. This cycle of stopping climbing and easing back into it has repeated 3 times in the time that has followed and i seem to be getting nowhere. I've been to see a physio, private sports physio, GP (twice), hand specialist plastic surgeon and an occupational therapist, none of which have given an effective diagnosis.
I have done all the things recommended as treatments for a pulley injury (which it was not not diagnosed as by anyone i went to see), and it still becomes painfull if i try to push myself in the slightest.
I am really, really desperate to get this sorted out. As you can imagine 10 months is a very frustrating amount of time to be injured for, especially when you can feel yourself getting so much stronger and not being able to put it to any use.
I simply do not know where else to go, ideally I am looking for a hand specialist with an interest in climbing which i know is a big ask. Do you know of anyone that you could recommend? Or even if you can't make a personal recommendation i am open to any options.
Thanks a bunch, James
