Well I went up and had a look. Access was OK along long causeway (I think) which was a little sketchy in places but had been gritted and was OK. Good and cold (below freezing) so probs in shade were OK, but most that had a side in the sun had runoff from melted snow on top. I pulled on a couple of things and resorted to taking pictures instead.

Well done resisting, the Kebs aren't a place to go if it is at all damp.  I suspect it'll take a few days before conditions are OK.

Yup, fragile when wet and I wouldn't want to damage them.. But given the conditions it didnt take that much resisting! :) I was glad to get out of the house and enjoyed having a good galumph about in the snow.. I brushed off the side of Jerrys facing the camera - and that cleaned up fine - dry and sticky - but the front face and arete (which needed to be grabbed) were gopping. Theres not actually that much snow on the tops to melt (2-3cm) so it might be fine  after a couple of sunny but frosty nighted days..

Any Bridestones regulars any thoughts about conditions at the moment? I'm guessing its not snowed for a few days there - so might be quite dry (rock wise) with snow underfoot... Thinking of an alternative for tomorrow if the Peak cops some more snow..

There's a reasonable bit of snow on the ground in Todmorden, I've not been up to Bridies but I'd guess it might be dry in places. It certainly hasn't been warm enough to thaw for run-off problems and hasn't snowed for a couple of days. I'd imagine the roads up there will be pretty clear but I don't know.

If it's shit you can come round mine for a brew and a play on the board.
There might be a bit of dry rock at Mytholm Steeps if Bridies is snowed out.

Cheers Nik, thats a generous offer. At the moment its a 'see where the snow is going' game.. the met office seem very unsure as to where its headed, so if the peak misses out thats where I'm headed.. Wimberry is a more northerly option (though I suspect it may have too much snow), Bridies - or schlep over to da'Cliff or Caley (which I'm pretty sure will be in and not getting a dose of snow tonight). I think I'll have a glass of wine and check the rain radar in the morning and see whats landed where!

I'll give you a snow report from the base of the hill in the morn if you fancy, no doubt my delightful offspring will ensure I'm up and about at some ungodly hour...

There is some high cloud this morning but no fresh snow. However Bridies was covered in low cloud/freezing fog last night so the rock may be glassy/ice covered. Bit of a brush and it might be good?

Blue sky is trying to come out now, might be nice up there (if very cold and snowy).
