Ok, In about a months time I'm going to be going to Malawi for a month to do field work for my masters thesis, while this is very much   ;D the enforced lack of climbing is a bit more  :(

I'm hoping there'll be decent tree/something to do pull ups leg lifts front levers etc on and I'm going to do floor work as well to maintain core strength, but what about fingers? Are the squeezy gripmaster or similar jobbys worth much or has anyone got any better suggestions for maintaining finger strength while I'm out there?

Cheers peoples.

Whereabouts in Malawi? There is climbing on Mt Mulanje and some cool looking boulders on parts of the lake shore. You got space in te luggage for some rock rings?

Gonna be on the SE arm of Lake Malawi/Nyassa, probably won't have time to go out and find any rock unless it turns out to be literally right on my doorstep. Rock rings are a good idea though, don't know why they didn't occur to me.

Don't know the specifics, but pic here looks nice

I would probably just enjoy the snorkelling and partake in a bit of the gold. It's the good stuff.

It's only a month. The rest might do you good, especially if you stay fit with bodyweight exercises and other stuff.

it might but then again scar tissue seems to flair up in situations like these (in me at least). I'd be keen to keep my fingers working lightly.
