Soooo, my pair of Venoms are starting to look a bit thin at the toe.

At the moment I only use them as indoor shoes, as the rubber on them is quite frankly slippy and shit compared to C4.

Hopefully a resole in decent rubber will give me a pair of shoes that I can happily use indoors AND on steeper outdoor stuff.

But what do I get put on them? My choices are as follows:

C4 (4mm)
C4 (5mm)
ONYX (4mm)
XS GRIP (4mm)
XS GRIP (5mm)
XS EDGE (4mm)
XS EDGE (5mm)
XS FLASH (5mm)  (Apparently this is yellow. Mmmm)

I'm leaning towards 4mm Onyx, to get the maximum friction.

But I don't have any experience with the recent vibram rubbers and maybe I should go for C4 to get the longest life out of the resole.

Anyone have any experience or helpful suggestions (no need to post clown shoe pics, thanks) ???

I normally get my Katanas resoled with stealth rubber and have been very impressed with them. I did have a pair done with vibram rubber and didn't rate them much, but that might have been the resole job itself rather than the rubber.

Not sure where you intend to get them resoled but I've recently used Cheshire shoe repair. £28 for stealth rubber including rands as opposed to £33 plus £10 for rands from feet first. Turned them around in less than a week too.

soescalande used to do you a free resole if you gave them 2 old pairs of rock shoes, not sure if they do.
