A fine choice. I had a pair of Katana's and loved them, they lasted for ages. Was thinking of getting myself some Miura VS but have been pleasently surprised  by finding an old pair of Red Chilli X-cubes I thought I had lost and have reverted back to them for now.

Oh yeah forgot to say, don't be worried by the sizing thing. I had 8's in my Katana's and I am a size 10 street shoe. Actually got down to a european size 41.5 in my Venoms!!  :o

So  ::) loving tha kats BUT I want more shoes, rally like the look and reviews that lace up muiras are getting, seem to be quite nice for edging and slightly stiffer than velcro?

Any ideas on sizing of them? same as my kats?

There seem to be a lot of people surprised by La Sportiva sizings.

Generally speaking the sizing is very accurate across the entire range (if you're 41 in one, a 41 in another should feel pretty good). Obviously you might prefer a half size different (in terms of absolute length, it should only be 1/8" longer), but it's not like 5.10 where you can range from 7.5 to 9.5! However the numbers they put are around 3-4 European sizes different to what they should be.

so in the end went for katanas with added velcro, wanted laces but didnt want spend the extra money  ::) street size of an 8 but managed to get into a 6  :'( in the kats, there plenty tight, seem a great shoe out of the box, edge nice and the heel is super tight, we shall see if they either disintegrate or stretch like hell, still want kat laces but they can wait
the katana lace up looks like a completly different shoe to the velcro.its much more toe down where as the velcros are a much more all round shoe.

Not that I know bucket loads about shoes, but katanas seem to fit me brilliantly, and I tried on some Scarpa Vapour lace-ups the other week, and got a chance to try them on some small holds/tiny edges.
To say they were amazing would be a huge understatement, standing on a tiny 4mm edge felt piss easy, well worth a try I would say.

Are they the special shoes that can morph into a different shoe halfway through a problem?

Definitely try on some Jet 7's if you get a chance as they soften up a lot and are perfect for pulling with toes on steeper stuff but retaining a bit of an ability to smear due to their softness and flattening out a bit.

This from a man who works in a climbing shop and claims that it doesn't matter what shoe you wear if you climb less than 7C  ;D
