Beastmaker feats
May 19, 2010, 12:10:08 pm
Just wondering, the feats explained on the beastmaker site http://www.beastmaker.co.uk/Hold%20RECORDS.htm - when they say "one arm the blah blah" is that a one armer, or just hanging with one arm? and if so how long are you supposed to hold it for?

Some (most) of those look absolutely nails either way!

Thanks, but I've found the records page. That's where it says "Feats are explained in the 3.2.1 article". If this article no longer exists on the beastmaker site could someone upload it somewhere or send it to me if you have it?

You might find it in Archive.org

Ned also did two articles for Planet Fear, that covers the same information (although doesn't contain the feats) Part 1 and Part 2.

Not much help in finding out what the feats actually are I'm afraid.

as far as I can recall all it did was explain what encores and repeaters etc are, which can be found in other articles.

It's  here but has been renamed "House rules for fingerboarding"

Great. That's what I needed. Thanks. Still doesn't give the difference between an armer and an arm though. I guess an arm is just hanging.

Some VERY rough grades & projects:
Hang the sloper 45s with no thumb or nestle for 30 seconds or more: font 8a
One armer the 45s with thumb or nestle font 8a+
One armer the 45s with no thumb or nestle: font 8b+ PROJECT
One arm the slopey pockets on middle 2: font 8a+ PROJECT
One arm the slopey pockets on front 2: font 8b PROJECT
One arm the slopey pockets on back 2: font 8c PROJECT
One arm the 1 pad monos middle: font 8a PROJECT
One arm the 1 pad monos ring: font 8b
One arm the 1 pad monos index: font 8b PROJECT

One arm the 1 pad monos pinky: font 8b+ PROJECT
One arm the little pockets middle 2 Font 7c+
One arm the little pockets front 2 Font 7c+ PROJECT
One arm the little pockets back 2 font 8a+ PROJECT
One arm the little rung 3 finger drag: font 7c
One arm the little rung back 3 finger ½ crimp: font 7c+ PROJECT
One arm the little rung back 3 finger ½ crimp: font 7c+ PROJECT
One arm Right eye 3 finger drag font 7b
One arm Right eye 3 finger front 3 half crimp font 7c
One arm Right eye 3 finger back3 half crimp font 7c
One arm incut rung 3 finger drag, font 7a+
One arm incut rung 3 finger full crimp font 7a+
One arm incut rung 3 finger half crimp font 7b

If any of these appear on 8a.nu you will be considered to be either under house arrest and this is your only hope of real climbing. Or you are just very very cool, especially if you downgrade them.

Why a troll?I can climb a few grades harder than 7a+ but can't do a 1 armer although I know people who climb at a lower grade that can do them.obviously the previous post to mine explains it one arm and one armed so all cleared up there

Phwoar. I think if I can ever do 7B on the beastmaker I'd back myself to climb 9a...

BB's comment was ambiguous but I took it that he/she thought the whole business of grading one armers was a troll rather than whether it was over or undergraged

Yeah but lets face it, 9as are only really training for beastmaker feats.
