this morning i went out for a quick bouldering session in the crag that you can see facing westwards(roughly) from grindleford in the peak district. it has a fair few problems i found i could do as i beginner and im sure there would lots more for more the more advanced and some roped up climbing . grid ref SK 253 781 for anyone who is interested

Grid ref looks like Tegness. Did you climb a C-R=A-Z+Y Pinnacle?

it definatly could be tegness! um no i dont think so but looking there i think i saw it. is it the sort of stand alone 5m or so high piller just left from the "main" crag if you were looking to grindleford?? also forgot to mention it seems to get alot of sun most of the time and drys well even with the 30sec bit of sunshine i got up there today

Not very well stuck together and likely to succumb to the effects of Mr Newton's Famous Gravity^tm; especially if someone pulls on it.

Of course climbers' "frighteningly unstable" is a lot lot better than cavers' "frighteningly unstable" (with reference to both rock and people).

If you want another quiet crag then Agden Rocher is a good bet, every time I've been there there has never been more than one other party besides ourselves.  Some real gems of routes too.

There's actually a few other little butresses along the ridge, I've done a couple of problems and was going to finnish a few more and write them up, maybe on my last day of freedom?

I dunno, its not that great for bouldering really, and the bits you can take away are pretty small.

Other quiet crags in the Peak include most of those in the Chew Valley area (Standing Stones, Ravenstones, Dovestones, Robs Rocks etc.) in comparison to the Eastern Edges at least.
