Whats in your Lunchbox?
March 12, 2010, 12:30:59 am
You heard me  ;)

What do you take in for lunch every day?

I'm falling into the trap of buying pasta salads from Tesco's or a sandwich from nearby lunchstop; both of which are cr*p and work out expensive if you do it on a regular basis.

I need some new ideas! Surely UKB foodies can help?

I have 3 cheese and pickle buns, and some fruit.
Every day the same.
I like cheese and pickle

If there are left overs from dinner the night before I'll take that - we often over cook stuff like pasta so there is.

Yesterday was Brie and onion marmalade sandwiches and fruit.

If I'm at work for over 12 hours I'll take some soup or something to heat up - those innocent pots are good but pricey.

Either leftovers of curry/stir-fry/pasta or sandwiches with egg, salad cream, chilli sauce and marmite.  :-[

Occasionally lazy in which case I'll grab a roll from a sandwich shop (current favourite is The Lunch Stop on Glossop Road), much better value than tastier than Tesco's cardboard.

Roast a chicken on sunday and use it to make sanwiches or salads all week.

I end up eating Houmous or tinned mackerel 80% of the time, unless there's leftovers. Lately though I've been making a sh*tload of tabbouleh on a Sunday and eating it all week.

Today though, looking forward to chips and curry sauce from Brenda's behind the Moor  :great:

"Ten Bren!"

Recently I've been having cereal. Usually have homemade sandwiches or a sandwiche from Philpotts (get a free soup with my work pass!).

i'm firmly in the "leftovers" camp. unless there aren't any in which case i head to the rather pricey local deli.

Been trying to get my shit together and be organised, making sarnies the night before but this hardly ever happens. What with riding to work I'm usually starving by 11am and can easily blow over £5 a day on food and snacks.

This week my secret weapon is home-made flapjacks to beat the hunger monster!

Been on a bit of a tofu and beansprouts thing recently.
Buy both from Tai Sun supermarket with some hot and sour soup base. Very low carb, very spicy, very cheap

That must be 'bad meaning good' unless you're a weirdo who doesn't revel in the stench of their own waste gas?

Pasta with bacon, shitloads of garlic, loads of peppers, onions, and some random sauce stuff.

Brekkie was a massive sausage roll, and an almond croissant

Put me down as a weirdo then. There's been some very noxious gases this week

2 or 3 jam sandwiches, a bag of mcyos, a banana, some flapjacks or something similair is a pretty failsafe option for me. Last weekend i went on a big walk and packed some cus cous,2 hot cross buns and a bit of quiche in one tupperware box ::) the cus cous went on half of 1 hot cross bun and tasted awful and didnt fill me up and the half of the hot cross bun was thrown away, also the quiche wasnt exactly lovley either!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
