Finger/forearm injury
February 23, 2010, 11:15:16 pm
Hey guys,
When climbing tonight I had my fingers on sloping 3 finger pockets when my foot then slipped. I managed to hang on the pockets for a couple of seconds before there was a pop in my wrist or forearm. The only pain I get is in my forearm from using my left ring finger. There's no pain at all around the finger, nor when I stretch it or clench my fist.
The pain only comes when I use my ring finger on an edge and start to add pressure to it. The pain is quite sharp and only in the forearm, a little above halfway between me wrist and elbow (around 5 inch from wrist), and more towards the side of the forearm which is opposite the thumb.

After having a read around, my only guess would be a partial tear to the FDS muscle maybe?
But then again I hardly know anything about climbing injuries really!
Should I get an appointment with a physio for this?

Would really appreciate some help identifying what it could be,
Emyr
