(This is the question I've been asking myself since Xmas day)

The ming finally cleared at Porth Ysgo today and the probs higher up the beach were crisp n dry (Foam Party, Brian Spray areas etc) but most of the lower stuff was still greasy.

btw there's a freshly deceased cow now padding the landing of the Ysgo Crack boulder - already smelling fruity - bring a nose-clip...

the Lakes were gash/gopping/sodden when I left this morning.. as Jim posted on the Parasillas thread sadly the low wind and mist means most places are clagged up at the moment.

is there news of dry rock from anywhere in the country??

OK
forget all that, just checked conditions report, apparently it's all wet! Forecast for the weekend looks pretty good though.

anywhere climable today?
I know the peak is similar to Manc, ie not raining but wet on the ground and maybe dry off later on this afternoon.
Is anywhere dry thats a couple of hours drive from Manc?
eg north wales (not cave as going there tomorrow), merseyside, yorks, south lakes etc...

Wet on the ground but brightening and possibly drying over on Merseyside. Harmers looked pretty good on Friday and its been dry since until last night - will probably stay dampish for the rest of the day tho'

Its clearing around Lancaster, so shelterstone might be ok... Was chatting to someone who is going to chance it. (Thought they do live in Lancaster!)

Pretty clear skies in S1, pavements and roads are fairly dry too.  Probably worth a punt.

Ended up at a pretty windy Burbage North. Any chances of dryness tomorrow? Has it rained over that side?

We went to Stanton, not bad nick. Pissing it down now, and windy...

Forecast to be colder tomorrow, still windy, rain should clear to north, though hill fog may linger - somewhere low but exposed best option - Cratcliffe, Trackside

(Shark, please note I'm asking because I don't live in Preston!).

Of course because that is because you live in memorable Bolton one of the UK's friendliest towns not to be confused with Bury or Blackburn or any other grim Lancashire textile town beginning with B and also  home of National treasure Peter Kay and the Preston Bolton complex

Just been for a walk along burbage north. Everything was pretty wet. The apocalyptic wind might dry it out later though.

We need an exposed, top of a hill, windy, Almsciff situation type crag over on the W.Side of the Pennines!  :)
