York's not that bad - think O2 was quicker in my old flat in Sheff but I've got used to the relative slowness now.

Just because it is closer as the crow flies doesn't necessarily mean that the route it has to take to get there and back is shorter.

Although this is about the best download they get, it is rather intermittent..

not bad but just moved off the master socket to the lounge one which is 3 junctions down and lost about 4mb/s according to the router.
If you take the front off your master socket and plug straight into the socket behind, it amazing how much faster it is, my router was showing about 12mb/s d/l (only if your adsl of course)
