Avatars?
November 17, 2009, 09:48:23 am
Just wondering if there is any reason why my current animated GIF avatar doesn't appear to be animated under UKB?

Doesn't appear to be a feature of SMF according to this

And if I post it as an embedded link it appears to work..

Maybe it's moving way too fast and the forum cannot keep up with it's epileptic movements? If you fed it some ketamine, it might chill out a bit and the animation may appear.  ;)

I have to say I'm very glad it doesn't dance, that would give me a headache quick sticks.

Good job I've not gone back to this one then  :P

I remember when Houdini's Skull avatar was doing people's heads in its possible within your browser to block particular GIF's somehow (can't remember exactly how, and right-clicking only seems to list blocking all images from UKB).

Might just stick with the plastinated body in this instance.

I didn't know you could do that Dave, but now I do I have. Thank-you.

Feck - I didn't realise that moving avatars were hated so much!!

I will change mine in that case, I've just been puntered because someone doesn't like my username!!!

Tris is my name for fucks sake  ;D

It's because it was too big.

Max allowed avatar size is 110px(w) x 120px(h). Because yours was too big the server will use imagemagick to resize the gif to fit. This will lose the animation.

I actually didn't mind Tris' avatar but on the whole most flashing style avatars are just really annoying and are not welcome.

Ahh, ok cool, cheers for the explanation.

Opted to revert to an older pic anyway so people don't get epileptic fits whilst reading UKB.
