Channel 4 had a '3 minute wonder' last night on the launch of fashion mag ]Supersuper.

No appeared on 4od yet but I guess it will soon.

I'm 90% sure the whole thing is a pisstake. Anyone?

There is no denying that Super Super is a phenomenal fashion force propelling Nu Rave forward in the subculture stakes. Engineered and steered by pop culture protagonists, Namalee and Steve, it is essentially a fashion magazine, but the Super folk are ever-evolving and are now hosting events and offering consultation services, making publications like Dazed and Confused look about as with it as your grandad.

Some of it is a odd but most high fashion catwalk stuff is, it never stays that mad when it reaches the shops, the stuff at shows always looks really out there, even the collections from more tame designers.

I was just about resigned to it being genuine when the credits rolled on the 3 minute wonder. Produced and directed by... Nathaniel Barratt.

Either its a pisstake they're taking all the way, or the idiots have signed up and they've thought, fuck it, lets run with it. Or high fashion is now high irony - I dress like a twat on purpose, so actually the joke's on you?

When we first started it was all about fashion just being fun, opening that feeling of it not being so elitist to want to dress so in an avant garde way and actually just enjoy yourself. We wanted to destroy the myth where you have to suffer to be cool.

It is real I think. I have only read a couple of Supersupers, but i did think it was great. Obviously I am too old for it, but I think there is a genuine mindless optimism and lack of cynicism. It is kind of the polar opposite to Vice.
And Jasper, don't you have have a Hitler moustache yet? I have been rocking mine since Sept 2nd - Thats how fashion forward I am. I heard Jerry is going to grow one next week!
