Thanks for the reminder.  My mate was raving about this last year.  Ken Nunn also writes a lot with Kurt Sutter on Sons of Anarchy and you can see his influence.

Do you watch SoA? I tried it for a bit but soon gave up, the 'Irish' episodes being the real low point.

The Irish second series was really bad.  It gets better and better after that.

Anybody watch this? http://www.channel4.com/programmes/dont-look-down/4od

Basically, bloke climbs big cranes and then hangs off them one handed, travels to the Ukraine and hooks up with an obviously insane individual who does the same.

Interesting...

It looks as if the last series I have is S03, should I try again from 04?

Good TV series?

House of cards is exceptionally good so far.
The Newsroom - yup, if rather self-indulgent
Borgen - really great show

Vincent - Decent oldskool show which I'm enjoying with the other half
Wire in the blood - ""

I watched it as I knew I would be faced with plenty of inane questions from work colleagues given that the programme pitched him as an "Urban Climber"  rather than an attention seeking moron.

I had to spend half of Monday explaining to people that climbing doesn't involve hanging one armed from tower cranes.

Basically it was an hour of my life I'll never get back.

Yes I got it wrong S03 is the crap one where they decamp to 'Ireland'.  S04 to S06 are great..  It's the best series I've watched in the last few years.  I love it.

The State Within: Well made BBC/BBC America political drama. Think 24, but for British people, i.e. much less over-caffeinated sugary drink company.

Capadocia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capadocia_%28TV_series%29): Good luck finding it, but it's brilliant. A mexican political / prison drama made by HBO Latin America. (If it's made by HBO, it's generally good). It's based around a women's prison and thus most characters are female. This may contribute to my other half liking it too.

Orange is the New Black: Very good comedy/drama based in an American women's prison, with the central character being a middle-class suburbanite whose lesbian drug-smuggling past it catching up with them. Whatever, it's great fun.

Nah haven't seen the first one.

I did, was underwhelmed, maybe expected a bit much. Didn't bother with rest if its worse.

As per earlier mentions Guy Martin's Speed is great fun. Just started bobsleigh episode, all nutjobs.

RE-up for House Of Fools.

Finally got round to watching one last night and it is classic V&B.

The GF who is Scanda Euro and hasn't seen or heard of them before* was in fits of laughter for 30mins.

Ronnie O'Sullivan making a maximum 147 break to win the Welsh Open 2014

Not his fastest ever 147 (5 minutes 20 seconds in the 1997 World Championships), but the shot from the last read back down the table to get on the black is amazing and played left-handed (although he is ambidextrous with a cue).

The programme had nowt to do with rock climbing and was more about breaking into places and hanging off high shit.  I though his free running was quite good and it seemed a good example of how getting into something 'sporty' can rescue people from a depressive predisposition. Didn't finish watching it though ;)

Surely the best thing on telly is Salamander - it's the new Bridge!! The Line of Duty is good too...:tumble:

I'm into Line of Duty, it seems like it's going to be pretty run if the mill to start with but I think it's different and the writing definitely keeps you guessing!

Big names in a made for TV film/ drama:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b03yrjvc/

Wasn't really sure what to expect, very understated. Bill Nighy was in another similar thing a few years back called Page 8. Well worth watching and Bill Nighy is too cool for school.

Also been watching Stuart Lee's comedy vehicle which has so far been better than the last series and that was quality.

Been watching parks and recreation on bbc4. Like an un annoying version of the office, one of the best comedy series I've watched for a long time.

Anyone here been watching W1a? Hilarious cross between the office and thick of it. So much will ring true if you work in a large (public) organisation. Brilliant.

Yeah, the follow series from '2012' which was so accurate on the run up to the London Olympics. Great.

Watched Turks & Caicos last night. It wasn't well publicised but it was the second part of a trilogy. The first being Page Eight (2011), the third being Salting the Battlefield...
Salting the Battlefield

Haven't watched the last one yet but the first two are well worth a watch if they repeat them. T&C has gone off standard iPlayer yet it still plays on the app on my YouView box so worth a hunt around. Salting the Battlefield is still available for a couple of days. They work as stand alone thrillers if you haven't caught the others.
