Could someone tell me how these size compared to new style. Am a 7.5 in new ones, what should i be in the old velco ones, roughly.

Surely you know that the numbers have no meaning and that 2 pairs of the same size will be completely different sizes.
The phrase "the same but different" was invented because of 5.10
