can anyone give me any beta on the First Arete (7bV8) at the lost boots area at Ilkley, I got spanked by it and went on to get spanked at Earl crag and was hoping that it wasnt just that I had gotten weak over the last month!

As Jim says, First Arete is hard enough in good conditions never mind summer!

From what I remember I spent ages trying to apply some technique to the problem but in the end had to just go back to the obvious beta and pull harder. A prime example of a great looking feature which climbs badly IMO, but maybe I was just being crap.
