So Gary Cahill has finally joined Chelsea and because he could have gone on a free at the end of the season, Bolton have only got £7m for him. Having read a fair bit about the dodgy dealings of Gartside and his pals this is unsurprising, however it could also have big consequences.

Bolton are in the shit financially and now they have lost their best player for peanuts. With no money to replace him, nobody would bet against them going down and if they do, they could well be fucked such is their perilous position money wise.

In the end, this is about opinions, of course it is. You cannot order someone not to be British just as you cannot demand players forsake everything just to protect Scotland's independent football state.

The tornament is a one off and if FIFA tried to turn the home nations to one team I think england would complain as much if not more than anyone else?
