Anyone wondered what the delightful Peter Kenyon has been up to recently?

The piece about Ipswich quite interesting/worrying too.

What a sad state this game is getting itself into.

[If only there was a governing body overseeing all this with the interests of the game at heart.

Don't you just wish the chairman of your own football club could demonstrate this level of passion?
More than happy with my chairman

when he arrives in the pub

What he was doing was sticking £500 behind the bar for town fans

a pint (or 3) later our chairman has something to say

I might set one up. I know I'll call it FIFA.

Football Is Fairly Academic

Unsurprisingly we got thoroughly gubbed last night. I suppose the only positives are that at least this time another Man Utd goal fest doesn't negatively affect my fantasy league team, and I didn't take up the offer of a £90 ticket.
Good job there's always rugby league.

Leeds looked awful from what I saw. More of the same on Friday please. Was disappointed that the game was over by half time so Grayson was able to rest players ahead of playing us.

We play Liverpool tonight but I'm just hoping it doesn't go to extra time and we don't pick up any injuries. The Leeds game Friday and Palace on Tuesday are much more important.

Hopefully see a few minutes of Vicente tonight though.....

I wouldn't worry about us on Friday Jasper we're pretty solid middle table rubbish this year - not really played well all season, mainly because we have very few decent players.

The only thing that surprised me about the Leeds vs ManU result was how surprised the commentators / pundits were.  They seemed genuinely confused by the outcome and lack of competitiveness, that a Leeds team that collapsed at the end of last season and then lost its remaining decent players was being trounced by all-conquering Premier League leaders.

Did they really think that "passion" would overcome the massive gulf in resources, or were their minds around ten years in the past?  Okay the ManUtd squad was pretty experimental, but Carrick, Valenica, Park, de Silva etc cost a fair bit between them and have plenty of top flight mileage.

The commentators only dip in and out of the championship, so they probably still had leeds pegged as the side that nearly put ManU out of the cup last year IIRC.. etc.. Whereas Leeds have been bled of most of their remaining talent this season by Satan come Santa claus look alike Ken Bates.. with the we cant get promoted this season or I have to pay the creditors extra clause. Wanker. And thats from a Hull fan...

Because they presume everyone is like them (and neither cares nor knows anything about any team outside the Premiership) they were probably basing their views on the fact that Leeds beat Man United in the FA Cup a year and a half ago. Just because reporting on football is their job, how could they have been expected to know that since then Leeds have sold all their best players?

EDIT - SNAP!

I don't claim to be any sort of expert on football but even I find the lack of knowledge most  pundits and commentators have staggering. Why is it so difficult to find people who are genuinely interested in the game and actually know what they are talking about to do these jobs? Looking forward to seeing what crap they come out with about Brighton tonight especially after Gordon McQueen said Leeds were going to play us at The Goldstone Ground on Friday (quickly covered up with "in my day etc etc").

I still think that Ken masturBates is a Chelsea fan trying to ensure that Leeds as a football club ceases to exist. It's only due to Captain Birdseye's incompetence that he's not managed this yet. The only surprising thing about last night's result is that we only got beat by 3. It only seems to be the commentators who have the impression that Leeds must still be promotion contenders as we rent a big stadium and have quite large crowds for the level we play at.

I reckon your boys could put us out tonight Jasper. Although it would be nice to see us do well in at least 1 competition, as we are going to need to improve a hell of a lot to get near to the top 4 this season.

I won't begrudge Brighton a victory and a decent cup run. They have been a joy to watch from the highlights I have seen on the FLS.

Cheers.

Think this is an accurate assessment of the situation:

Don't know if anyone else watched it last night but aside from the first half hour when we were totally overawed, Brighton were excellent. Really impressed and a good omen for the rest of the season. Cannot wait for tomorrow..........

Class match Jasper especially injury time. Good weekend for sport Rhinos get through with a quality display against Hull, Leeds don't loose, Scotland loose against Argies in the soft version of the sport and the granny shagger/shrek lookalike is injured for a few weeks (which becomes a double bonus when you don't(can't) have any Manure players in your fantasy team.
