I was listening while cooking... Sounds like you were on top and then bang... Unlucky, as the commentators were saying, 87 points would have been enou for automatic promotion in the last 18 seasons.

Anyone any preferences for today's epl playoff??

Bad luck Grubes. What a sickener.

I'm struggling to give a toss as I neither like nor particularly dislike either team.

Yeah... I think for next years championship I'd rather see Swansea go up (and play reading next year etc..) but that aside its Reading, as they've come from no-where in the Championship this year - whereas Swansea have been there or thereabouts all year.. fairy tale etc.. Still its raining, and theres nothing else on the telly, and the angst and importance of the game often makes it an interesting (if not necessarily good) game to watch...

I was following it on text, felt for you when they scored after all that possession.

Favouring Swansea today, could be interesting next year with them in the PL.

See David Jones sacked this morning and Qatar outed as having bought the 2022 world cup, close season's are getting better entertainment every year.

We were beat by a better team imo. We were set up for an away match in a 4-5-1 with benik afobe up top (one to watch arsenal/england youth player). Hes good but too young to play upfront on his own in that role.
Another year of experience for Clark as manager. Will be interesting to see how many players we loose over the summer.

Looks like its been a good game. Swans 3-0 up at half time and just looked reading got it to 3-2 now 4-2.

Dave Jones sacked was expected
Qatar bought the world cup what a shocker ... nice that evidence is now being presented.
Sepp Blatter now has no opposition but the vote is still going ahead on wednesday. Fifa is a joke I guess the FA's descision not to vote a couple of weeks back was a good option to avoid the farce.
Interesting article

on a side note is it me or does chuck blazer look like some thing out or lord of the rings

C'mon Man United.

Win this one.

Then we can all sit round laughing as you're shellacked by Barça in the final and Messi and Xavi make Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown look like a right pair of twats.

<Buffs fingers, arrogantly.>

Flemish MOTD crossbar challenge where the player tries to hit the bar five times in the quickest time possible. 75 year old Erik Lambert......

"and the sporadically feral challenges."

That will have to be good enough for you until one of the sports writers do something that doesn't have to pass Man U's "quality control" first.

Cynical tackles aside he was an awesome player though and one who I have been singing the praises of for years. OK latterly he wasn't as good as in his heyday circa 10 years ago (but then neither am I) but the thing that always stood out for me was his awareness of where the opposition player who had the unfortunate job of marking him was. Ball would be passed to him, he would control it and just turn in the opposite direction to his marker and play a simple pass - text book midfield play really and he made it look so simple. Thank god he was ginger...  ;)

Spoke to a blades fan at work. I was trying not to laugh when I asked him what he thought. Response was cheap option for a crap manager.

My thoughts were similar

Someone is actually holding up an inflatable pig with a Wednesday shirt on in that photo aren't they.

Someone has actually bid £1300 for some mud, grass and white paint haven't they.

Newcastle hit back at Owen:

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6964103,00.html

Quite amusing, especially the irony of Newcastle complaining about paying £40m for his services. Nobody forced them to!

Quote
Under Kevin Keegan's management he was offered a one-year extension at £140,000 a week which he did not take. He was already on £133,000 a week.

 :o

Owen's a prick too.
