Interesting piece here on manners and decorum in Spain / Spanish football (and other recent goings on):

Glenn Hoddle apologises after insulting "them slitty eyed people*".

*Artisic licence used. He didn't actually say that......this time.

He is a prize cunt though isn't he ?
Didn't watch any footy last night as I'm sure I'll have 2 successive Champion's League matches tonight and tomorrow

No problem, Twitter trawls it for me.

Yeah Hoddle is a horrible, stupid individual.

Really glad that Spurs won tonite. Some nice one touch stuff and Gattuso is a dirty cheat who should have been off along with Flamini.
Back in the "real world" we lost again 3 0 away to Tranmere  :(

Doncaster 0 - Ipswich 6 (Six) - have to say that as much as I was prepared to support Keane while he was manager in retrospect I am fucking glad he has gone.

For anyone who gives a toss that is four wins, one draw and a loss to Arsenal (in which we played well if defensively) in the last six games.

At this rate we could overhaul Norwich. :bounce: :alky: ;)

Wednesday are in serious danger of getting relegated. Five points off the drop zone and on shocking form. They should be far too good to go down and they have games in hand on most of the other teams down there (some of whom are really rather shite) but the way they are going it wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen.

http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/oform.html

Some great results for us last night despite us not playing, with Bournemouth's game postponed and Charlton and Oldham losing. It's looking like we will still be top with loads of games in hand even after the 5th round cup game.

Yep. Pretty amazing turnaround since the wanker left.

OK guilty as charged about spelling Graeme - will try my best to do better or summat.
You're right Jasper - I can't believe what's happened to us with the squad we've got. All money worries should be gone, should have competition for places, everything should be moving upwards but its the opposite

Can't believe what's happening to Donny as well. They were great at the start of the season and can now barely get a draw

Talking of fighting, 'Arry's comments re Gattuso headbutting Jordan - " e dint do is omework did e"

It's a good job for Gattuso that he didn't get a Glasgow kiss back.

One for Graeme:

http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/6614/38/

Well he got his money off me on Saturday (well me dad actually as he bought the tickets), only problem is I didn't make it as me exhaust fell off on the M1. So I watched it in the pub instead  >:(

Interesting to hear about the Fenerbache offer for Bent.

A not bad game... good to see Arsenhole getting a result.. though for much of the game Barca looked like they had two extra players... Gonna hold out for that 0-0 on the away leg?  ;)

Who was the imposter in the Koscielny shirt last night? He's been bloody awful when I've seen him play previously but yesterday he was immense. Wilshire will (rightly) get the plaudits for sometimes out Xavi-ing Xavi but Koscielny kept them in it on numerous occasions. He seemed to be everywhere.

Cracking game. Second leg will be very interesting.

By the way, I know it's shooting fish in a barrel but I'm sure ITV's coverage is getting gradually worse. Tyldsley is a fucking prick who would do well to read this:

http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/5723/38/

But much worse is Townsend. Why they persevere with him is beyond me when he has nothing sensible or knowledgeable to say. Ever. Last night's gems included a rant about how it's a "trait of the modern defender" to concentrate too much on holding the line and playing offside rather than following the runner. What the fuck he thought he was on about I have no idea but perhaps he never watched Arsenal (and lots and lots of other teams) twenty years ago.

Then there's Childs who has all the dynamism and personality of a cornish pasty but probably with a slightly higher potato content. His "I'm your dour fat mate who you feel a bit sorry for" routine might have worked when he was playing second fiddle to Lineker on MOTD2 (or presenting that inexplicably popular Pebble Mill type thing) but since he flounced out of the BBC for tons of cash and the top dog role at ITV it doesn't really wash anymore. Also, when you're the anchor for a massive game it would be nice if you seemed as if you were actually interested in it but Childs has no other setting than dour pasty so it's not going to happen. I don't think this is actually his fault it's just that he's totally unsuitable for the job.

I suppose I should just be grateful that they didn't cut to an advert just as Nasri squared the ball to Arshavin but my heart sinks every time I see that a game I want to watch is on ITV.
