Up for the cup!

Superb stuff at Mossley yesterday - eight goals - three sendings off - and a tinpot ground announcer shouting "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU REFEREE, YOU'RE TURNING THIS INTO A FARCE!" on the tannoy.

Apparently Portsmouth is going to go out of business in the next few days unless a buyer is found.

Sadly one daft enough was found

As an exercise in brinkmanship it didn't really hold a candle to the Rooney situation - poor show though...

(There but for the grace of God. etc. I don't honestly think there's that many of us down towards the arse end of professional football that couldn't be at risk of something this if it suddenly all starts to turn pear, and then continues southwards.)

FTM

Aha! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FTM

FTM is a three-letter acronym which may stand for any of the following:

    * First Time Mother Used on pregnancy and parenting forums.
    * Family Tree Maker, a genealogy program.
    * Farm-to-Market road, a type of highway
    * Father Michael Troy School, school in Edmonton
    * Fault tolerance management.
    * Female-to-male transsexual; see transman.
    * Fair to Midland, an art rock band from Sulphur Springs, Texas.
    * Follow-the-moon Scheduling work around the world to be performed during local night-time hours
    * Funny to me - most commonly used while chatting or texting
    * Fuck the Matrix, referring to the specialist Merseyside Police team responsible for tackling gun crime in Liverpool, United Kingdom
    * Fuck The Monarchy - Fuck the queen/Monarchy
    * Fuck the Mags (Mags being a slang term for Newcastle Utd football supporters)
    * Full Time Manual, being able to manually change focus on a lens while in auto-focus mode (without damaging autofocus motor)
    * Failure To Mother (not mother-like/fails to act like a mother)
    * For The Moment - variation on ATM (At The Moment), Internet slang.

Obviously referring to option 6...

Didn't see it either, Mrs is working so I'm child herding, sounds like we had the better of it for a long time, having lost six on the trot it's a good result I suppose

Quite excited about the league cup match though, after the shenanigans in 2001 all our matches have been Sunday noon kick offs so being a night game and a cup tie should spice things up a bit.

And their fucking second goal (and we all know how important the 2nd goal in any game is) was fucking offside. Phil Doyde is a fucking cock.

And I had to watch our humiliation sat next to a fucking Barcode.

Made up Liverpool stole a result at Bolton. I'm not getting too excited as I can't see us turning over Chelsea at our place!

We desperately need a couple of signings on January. I fail to see how Konchesky is an improvement on Insua. Rather have Kelly in at right back too instead of Carragher who makes Gary neville look sprightly.

Hopefully a creative midfielder/striker/left but I won't hold my breath. I expect more 'solid' workhorse Hodgson signings with no creativity.

p.s. Good to see the FF league is heating up as the pack closes in on the top 3 and it starts to bunch up a bit more.

hodgson, like houlier, are and will never be good enough to manage liverpool.  They are too boring
Can you imagine him trying to "motivate" people in the changing room.
Boring one dimensional player style/vision.  We need more mourinhos in the world

 :-\ by boring would you also include managers like Arsene Wenger for instance? Just because a manager isnt all fire and brimstone does not mean hes perfectly capable of motivating a squad....

"will never be good enough to manage liverpool"  ;D Honestly, Liverpool fans, sometimes its as if you think the trophies all belong to you and they've just been lent to someone else!

Dont forget that whilst Mourinho was far from boring on the touchline or in the press conferences his football was most of the time conservative, defensive and often a little dull.

Liverpool have deep problems - why on earth the fans stood by Houlier and Benitez for so long but are on Hogsons back so soon... give the man a break!

Full set in league one tonight

Brighton V Exeter - has to be a win for Brighton

Wednesday V Huddsersfield - A good yorkshire derby. I think the crowd will be about 20-25k tonight and should bring a decent attmosphere, we are taking over 4000. It's a game Huddersfield can't afford to lose. The pack below us is really tight with 3 points splitting 2nd place to 12th. We will start with Rhodes and Garner up top and hope neither of them get injured as we are running out of strikers. Now I just have convince one of my mates to come for the trip.

Colcester V Orient - Should be 3 points for colcester

Rochdale V Oldham - Another good game for the neutral. Should be a good atmosphere.

Fantasy Footballers take note, there's a schedule of midweek games starting tomorrow evening so don't neglect to get your teams/transfers sorted out.

Good to see Barton back to his old tricks - 3 match ban should be winging his way soon. FTM  :)
