Great to see Blackpool go up.  Although it does draw into question the sense in having play offs when the Blackpool got 9 points less than Forest and yet they win the £90m prize?

Yeah but Forest had the opportunity to prove their superiority over Blackpool over two legs and failed. Everyone knows the rules before the season starts. Finishing third ain't good enough.

If you look at the final table it was pretty obvious that West Brom and the Bar Codes were far superior to any other teams over the course of the season and that there wasn't that much to call between the next few. In fact it's a pretty sound endorsement of why the playoffs are a good thing.

Apparently he wanted reassurances that any money he got from the sale of players would be available for reinvestment in the squad. When he was told that the £50 they might get for Aquilani would have to go on diesel for the team coach, he walked.

OK I made the second bit up but the first bit's true, apparently.

Not sure who'll want the Liverpool job with the mess the club's in financially, no CL football next season, possible loss of Gerrard and Torres. Their position looks grim unless someone fool buys the club.
