As I understand it the FA rules prevent an administration practice having more than one club on their books at any one time.

Thought that might be the case but then thought it might be different as this is a PL rather than Football League club. Was just guessing but what you say makes sense.

It's neck and neck at the top of the UKB league and I'm creeping up slowly Jasper :-)

Yes and all down to Rooney. Hang your blue head in shame!  :P

This could be a bad week for my team, I'm having to do some serious juggling.

What's the difference in practical terms between a winding up and administration?

It gets worse (but not worse than going out of business entirely):

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/23/portsmouth-administration-points-deduction

Wouldn't Winding up mean they cease to exist and Administration mean they get  a man in to sort out their debts but can carry on trading.

Well none if the administrators can't find a viable way for the Company to continue as a going concern.

Wouldn't Winding up mean they cease to exist and Administration mean they get  a man in to sort out their debts but can carry on trading.

That's right but in this case (and with Palace to a lesser extent) the debts are so big that unless the administrators can find a buyer who's willing to pay a load of them off and / or get the creditors to agree to write a load off then there is no way the business can continue as a going concern.

The administrators should then act in the best interest of the creditors to ensure that the maximum value is received for any assets in order to pay them as much as possible.

That's the theory but in reality the administrators will charge astronomical fees, get paid first and then the creditors will pick up the crumbs.

In short, the very best that Portsmouth can hope for is to still exist next season and that's a long shot.

Time for something to be done.......

I know I won't be popular for saying this - but I thought  Rooney's goals last night were brilliant.
The way the count of darkness played the ball to Valencia for the volley cross onto Rooney's head was first class.

Just cos I hate the scum doesn't make me blinkered to the fact that Rooney is playing amazing football at the moment (please God that he stays fit for the World Cup).

It's just a good job that they had to offload the Portuguese twat to pay the mortgage as he's ripping it up in Madrid too.

Absolutely re the world cup.
It was the way the team were playing as well - not just Rooney though. I've thought Berbatov has been poor this season but he looked pretty sharp last night. The speed at which they play and the quality of the first touch is a joy to watch.

I'd like to feel sorry for Pompey, but their supporters were relentless in their pisstaking when Saints went down, so justice is served.

It's hotting up nicely at the top but this week could be a bad one with the scum and villa not playing and Chelsea v Man C causing issues in defence(s)... and the gunners away at a stubborn Stoke. Bad bad bad  - shame there is no lottery built in to win a free wild card week  ;D

I know I know  :-[ .... I made the same mistake this week leaving Tevez so I had to reluctantly make Shrek captain and he let me down on Saturday but made up for it last night.

I'm a bit worried about City v Stoke tonight.

(I'm likely to be at The Works later on with Gav and Ben if you're around)

I like the fact that the table thinks Zamora is cool.  ;)

Graeme's lot would be fucked without Bent then!

Has there ever been a team so full of total wankers as the current Chelsea squad?  :-\

Terry - Cunt
Lampard - Wanker
Drogba - Twat
Ballack - Cock
Essien - Nasty Bastard
Carvalho - Dirty Cheating Fucker
Anelka - Sulking Self Obsessed Tit
A. Cole - Nuff Said

That's just off the top of my head.

Just Cashley is enough to win that accolade, all the others are relative bit players in the wanker stakes.

(did I really just post on a football thread?)
