Meanwhile, some totally dispiriting news from football a World away from French lingerie models, texting nude self-portraits, over-inflated egos, and tasteless automobiles.

Shocking stuff, a sad and familiar tale. I'd be interested to know how they have managed to create this supposed £500k loan. Sounds like some great creative accountancy.

WhatTheFuck! I turn my back for 21 weeks and the Wild Stallioni's are bottom of the Fantasy League. Time to start heading up the table. :bounce: :alky:

You mean it's not my team?  I haven't made a single substitution and no nothing about football, how can I not be last?

What's all this bollocks in the news today about a playoff for the 'top-4'..  :-\

hmmm anything to do with the fact that Manure, Chelski, The Arse and Uselespool's God given rights to Champions League places are under threat?  :-\

What a crock of fucking shit.

 :agree:

It seems daft to propose it this year when the competition for fourth has been so well contested

And I wonder what uefa think, the initial point of the champions league was to ensure the big clubs are always in it and remain in it to the final stages.
As well as making lots of money of course.
And providing a football spectacular
Oh, and as a method for working out the best team in europe, but that's just an aside.

Could be worse:

"A similar system to the idea of play-offs was introduced by the Dutch Eredivise in 2005-06, with teams finishing from second to ninth competing for a place in both the Champions League and what was then the Uefa Cup." (from here.

Thankfully such silliness has now been dropped for  a format similar to that suggested by The Premier League.  ???

What a load of shit. 3rd and 4th only go into the qualifying round anyway (don't they Everton) so this would be like having playoffs to get into the playoff. There are 38 games to decide who finishes 4th. Why do you need another 7?

So you can squeeze more cash out of the punters and TV airing rights?

Hopefully it's the Glazers and they'll be financing it by selling Old Trafford, Carrington and Rooney.

oooh, do you know the answer.  I'd guess at somebody with a product to sell in India that needs a foot in the door, energy maybe.  So, Abramovich.

Maybe we can transfer a bloke from the IPL with a big glove to catch the Rory Delap throw ins that have caused us so much grief this week ?

Or perhaps the IPL could lend cricket boxes to our opponents when Vierra is playing?

Pompeii getting desperate:

BBC breaking news
Quote
Cash-strapped Portsmouth are understood to have asked the Premier League for permission to sell players outside the transfer window.

Saw they were trying to get HMRC to agree to the PL paying their tv money directly to them.

Desperate times........

Apparenlty you can only deal with one insolvent football club at a time.  They're doomed. statement at 07:55 tomorrow?

Sadly I think they're f*cked.. theres layers upon layers of debt there..
Also, talk on R5live of HMRC wanting to make an 'example' of a PL club...

I wonder who the ADD responsible supports?

That's the only relavent factor as in my opinion HMRC are a shower of shit that couldn't organise a gang bang in a brothel.

That's not an opinion, it's FACT.

They are currently hassling a client of ours for £800. Threatening baliffs etc despite the fact that the debt was £5k and is being paid regularly.

Other clients owe tens of thousands and haven't even had a letter.

It has become a pathetic and nonsensical organisation but hey, they keep me in a job.
