Good to see Torres getting himself in the shop window last night. Should get a few mill for him.

I see that Wigan did their usual trick of rolling over for the Rags... Dave Whelan is so far up Fergusons arse it's a disgrace .

Bit gutted about losing the lead in the UKB FFL after a good run at the top but it is hotting up nicely! We were so lucky against the Villans. Hopefully Torres and Stevie can stay free of injury and Aquilani can start to gel a bit more with the team and add that creativity that is often lacking in our lineup.  :please:

I notice my trick of jinxing in-form players has worked by picking Milner and Arseshaving who have gone a bit quiet in the last few games!

At what cost was the win though?  Bye, bye Beckford

And good to see that old Red Nose maintains his position as a statesman for English British football by refusing to talk to the press after game.   :wank:

Maybe failing to have a pitch with sufficient underground heating or sufficient ground staff to clear a pitch should result in automatic relegation?

It would be one way of Leeds ever getting back to the Premiership

It's not just the pitches though is it. Wigan Bolton (I think it was) before xmas was postponed despite the pitch being totally clear because the outside areas around the turnstiles etc were death.

As I understand it under soil heating is only good for so much - try melting 6 inches of snow and not getting a pudding of a pitch out of it!  Anyway from next season it is a requirement for every club in the Championship to have covers for the pitch - the only club that didn't have them in place this year was Blackpool but they have them now after Ipswich paid half the cost of buying them (allegedly) so that the 3rd round of the FA Cup could be played last Saturday.

On Wednesday City had cleared all the car parks, walkways, turnstiles and the pitch was toasty warm but the cops and council still pulled the plug on the match (I wonder if a certain whisky sodden red face was worried about getting a shafting and pulled a few strings???)

Can we blame the snow on him too?

Looks like burnley's a frozen pitch (no surprise there) but the other two are slippy pavements etc.

I was hoping the cup match would go ahead and utd would get last weeks defeat out of their system but it looks like we'll cop for it instead.

In the course of researching some sarcastic reply I came across the following-

"The 1950 Football World Cup was a little different from the others, with the winner being decided through a final group stage. Therefore the deciding game between Brazil and Uruguay wasn’t technically the final – it just worked out that way. Brazil only needed a draw to take the trophy, and were sailing at 1-0, but the Uruguayans came back to win 2-1 and take the trophy. What was incredible about the game, however, was the amount of people that watched it. An astonishing 199,854 fans crammed into the stadium, which is still the biggest football attendance of all time."

200,000 fans in one ground (+/- 0.013% for the pedantic)  :o

World Cup being decided by a group stage  :o :o

White Horse Cup Final was supposed to be more but no official figures exist of course. Estimates were between 240,000 and well over 300,000.

Shocking. Except not really shocking at all.

Let's see what happens at the World Cup. These people are desperate and not in a light, gay version of the word. We have no idea or rather we have every idea but choose not to think too much about it.

It sort of disgusts me that the tournament is being held there (SA). Too many moral variables but it's certainly wrong.

Don't think......come on England. I have no other option and I really really want us to win the World Cup.
