City 3rd!? Not a hope imo.

I doubt it too, but would love to see Liverpool come below them  :)

You never know...
I think top scorer's a real tricky one to predict this year. Aside from Torres (who'll probably get an eyelash dislodged in the first two weeks and be out for the season) I can't pick one. Owen could grab a hatfull, but SAFc (Sir Alex, Fat C***) will only play him every now and then.. Chelski never have one top scoring hitman, Arsenal... same... Adebayor?? Defoe? now I'm scraping the barrel...

Shit  :-[ still, 19's not a huge total - compared to other years... come on - who's the top scorer for 09-10 then?

Yeah. The number of league goals scored for a season has gone down. Probably due to the rotation policies of the bigger teams.

I'll scrape that barrel and go with Defoe. Looked in fine form t'other night and will play pretty much every game under Redknapp.

If they stay fit / unstroppy for most of the season then Anelka / Drogba up front is a terrifying combination. Ancelotti is clever enough to get the best out of them, it'll just be a case of if he can cope with the hornets nest of massive egos at the club. After coping with Berlusconi for so long I reckon he'll do ok. Anelka for the Golden Boot.

1 Chelsea
2 Liverpool
3 Man U
4 Arsenal
5 City
6 Villa

18. Pompey
19. Hull
20. Burnley

Top Scorer: Anelka

I can't see us breaking into the top 4 this season but I do think we'll do better than Villa. Everyone is writing Arsenal off for some reason when they are still a force to be reckoned with.

As for Anelka, isn't he the most succesful player in the premiership at the moment with several League, FA Cup, Champions League and World Cup medals?

Can't wait to sit down to MOTD with a beer tomorrow night. :bounce:

Nice one. We have 21 teams now, a proper league.

I like your Mrs' original team name. I wish I'd just called mine "Football Team" now.

Oi tomtom, watch it. SAFC refers to the north east's only Premier League team not Old Red Nose

You can still change your team name, I reverted mine the other day following the news of our take over bid.

1. Chelsea
2. Liverpool
3. ManU
4. Arse
5. v*lla
6. City

Bottom is tricky as we'll no doubt be quite closely involved but

18 Burnley
19 Hull
20 Pompey

Really hope I'm wrong about Burnley and Wolves go instead but I can just see there nice football coming to nowt like West Brom's did last season.

Top scorer: torres

"It's important we do our best and kick lumps out of them - fairly of course," David Dunn on the upcoming game with City  ;D

If drogba can get pissed off they was carra pissed him off a couple of seasons ago (when he tore liverpool apart, pretty much by himself) he is a definate contendor for the golden boot. but i have serious boubts over his ability to stay focused over a long period, we'll have to see how ancelotti deals with him. Jasper: agreed, if torres does manage to stay fit, he will be dangerous! i cant help but think that van persie will have a belter of a season and suprise a lot of people

Yeah Van Persie, like Torres, just needs to stay fit. He could be so good but never seems to manage a decent run in the side.

He played for us for about three seasons, actually I'll rephrase that - he was signed to us for about three seasons.  I remembered him best for being injured and that miskick.
