Can Sloper explain this one please?

Easy don't hold trials of football players in their 'home' towns.  I know some one involved in the defence team of one of the footballers who were charged with giving an asian lad a good kicking and they thought that he was a guilty as hell.

But since we're not allowed to do jury selection, things like this are bound to happen. When I heard about this case I knew it was likely that he'd be found not guilty as most people just wouldn't believe that an England footballer could hit the target three times in under a minute.

Sorry Jasper, missed the link.  It is shocking.  I read somewhere yesterday that Madrid were once in financial trouble so sold their training ground to the government who immediately gave it back as a gift.  it's amazing what they get away with and UEFA deem to be ok, while English clubs are the spawn of satan.

I heard that story. They were £70m in debt so the council paid £70m for the ground and then er...gave it back. If this latest Galacticos experiment goes the same way then I'm sure something similar will happen!

Teams can only be viewed after their first Gameweek has started to allow managers to keep their tactics secret. To view a team simply click on their name in a league table.

once the games got under way your division could be divided into four pages and you could be made to wait for an agonising 90 seconds before the one with your team on came round again. However much I convinced myself that this process could be speeded up by repeatedly pressing the hold key to get the numbers scrolling around in the top left‑hand corner, it would invariably just refresh the current page and leave me marooned back where I started.

 

I remember watching a cup match in a pub years and years ago, after the televised game had finished one of the local teams  (villa I think) had gone to penalties.  So, about twenty guys are stood around a 26" tv watching a penalty shoout-out on teletext, cheering each refresh.  Probably a low point in my life to be fair.
