I did think the fact that the jury had to swear that football allegiances wouldn't sway their decision was a joke. I wonder if he'd have got off had the trial been held in Manchester (or Essex)?

Do you think that the 6-1 thrashing was a silent outcry by the players at having to wear those shirts? I would certainly feel demotivated if I had to wear it in public...

And the shit just keeps on coming for the poor little Barcodes http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8172201.stm

I almost feel sorry for them. Almost but not quite  :P

Looks like you've signed Darren Bent for £15m G. What do you reckon?

I'm amazed that clubs have spent £34m in total on such an average player.

I reckon it's good, if expensive, business.  He was great at Charlton (1 goal every 2 games) and maybe hasn't had the same opportunities at Spurs but still manged 1 in 3, despite half of his appearances being off the bench.  i remember a purple patch last year that even prompted me to draft him into my ffl team, albeit temporarily.  Could be good value this year at current prices.

Does this mean we can have Fraizer Campbell back on loan for another season?? (having failed - yet again - to sign him)  :)

When your husband's just been "cleared" of battering someone in a drunken brawl (and his mates have all pleaded guilty to the offence) and when you yourself were arrested for bottling someone in a local restaurant a few years ago, is this the brightest thing to say about the place where you live......

???

Stupid cow.

RIP Sir Bobby.

A real gentleman - and general all round good bloke. There are few like him in football and he'll be missed.

The passing of a great man indeed and I am gutted to hear that he has finally passed on - the Ipswich team he built in the late 70's and early 80's will be long remembered by every one connected with football not just the fans like myself. A magic time in football that won't be repeated.

That was a great time, I remember being gutted when villa pipped Ipswich in '81.

It's a sad day, he's a true great, I'm not sure anyone in football commands the same respect, he will be missed.
