Evolv Talon anyone?
May 24, 2009, 12:05:55 pm
Was wondering if anyone has ever tried these, they seem kinda interesting as they look similar to my current fav clogs the Dragons and a few places seem to have them on offer for easy going money. Any experience or feedback would be welcome! especially how sensitive they are, how good is the rubber vs Stealth HF and is the heel any good on them...

Cheers

9 out of 10 climbers who expressed a preference said they would sooner give up climbing than be seen in Evolv shoes. - Jerry Moffat

LOL thats been my impression too, every time I tried Evolv shoes (Pontas and those horrible Sharma downturned ones) the only thing going through my climbing shoe obsessed brain were the words: WTF!!! Still, reviews out there seem to like the Talons... and no shop around london (or Paris) has the Talons to try on... so... i figured lets see what those kind people at UKB have to say about them...  I never climbed in Evolv, why do you dislike them so much?

Leah and Mina seem to get on quite well with them, and they both use their feet.

I use a pair of Evolv Defys for doing routes, and really liek them, but I am just a punter, not someone at the cutting edge of not climbing like Houdini.

Greg seems to think they are OK.

If you watch 'Predator' you'll see that Hawkins wears evolv's and he's first to die.

Dutch is the only team member sponsored by boreal and he survives!

I like Evolv shoes.  I've heard a lot of people say the rubber is too soft but that's actually what I like about them, they're great for smeary stuff and feel like the mold round even really small foot holds.
