Went for a walk up burbage valley this eve and burbage north + burbage south bouldering was all looking dry. As Lagers mentioned there's some localised wet buttresses but most stuff was looking decent. Should be good tomorrow if it doesn't shit it down overnight (not forecast last I checked).

Would be plenty dry anywhere that catches the wind. Flipside is it was fucking freezing today, too cold for me to climb really. Unfortunately anywhere not catching wind was damp. You'll get some in but dress accordingly!

Quite pleasant in the sun at Roaches upper tier today, with a drying wind. I expect lower tier will still be wet tomorrow though.

Burbage North catching the breeze so bits are drying out.

Think I saw you drive past! I was lingering around the eliminates buttress waiting for it to dry out in between showers, was pretty decent towards the end of the day but damp beforehand.

I walked out via Redmires yesterday. Didn’t go down below the edge but lots of the rock looked wet and there was lots of snow on top of all the boulders.

Any reports from today?

Obviously on the complete understanding that any reports posted are on behalf on a mate in jail who was let out on bail for the day and had special dispensation from BoJo to go where they wanted.

Burbage West in proper cheating nick. It was almost like being good again.

Only 2" of snow but the road between the cattle grids is pretty icy and the Cowperstone bend is causing problems.

Cool. Case of mistaken identity. Somebody was reported as walking along the crag yesterday trying to find whoever they’d slid into

Hi Mike - I thought I might have seen you walking - do you have a blue Mountain hardware rucksack.

Back on topic...

Curbar was mint today, and no issues with ice on any of the approach roads.

Could be- right brand but it’s black. We were walking at Rache’s pace so it was a bit of a death march.

Another inch or two of snow on the higher edges, stayed cold all day so still powder but a fair bit of melt. Good nick on the dry bits. Ringinglow road icy in places. Car parks are open, no PDNPA signage or police patrols that I saw. So looks like locals will be fine visiting local crags.

Similar conditions this afternoon to what JB was describing yesterday. Bit of ice about on the roads but didnt have any issues getting to burbage bridge in my van (one of the least capable cold weather vehicles, as far as I can tell).

People on famous grouse, west side and western eyes. Cold and sticky.

Remus - I appreciate the enthusiasm for relaying conditions -

But it’s a bit like posting up a picture of you tucking into a Sunday dinner whilst many other people here are being starved :D

(Edit - that comes across a bit grumpy - there is a smiley there for reason)

No, it's a fair point. Plenty of people who don't have local venues available and won't do anyone much good hearing that conditions are nice at an out of reach crag! Makes sense to hold of the conditions reports until lockdown eases.

Or someone just post it's shit and give some random reason just to make everyone else feel better.
