Might be worth noting that I had a chat with the lady that owns the large house that you walk past to go to eatswood. She's one pretty angry woman. It appears that her angst is caused by people walking past her house and then having the audacity to be relatively near it whilst climbing. Not sure if this will cause problems in the near future but it may be worth keeping a low profile.

I've heard this from another source too.  Apparently it's better not to park at the pumping station layby near the house but to park further up in an actual car park in the woods and then take the track thought the woods which avoids going past the house.  You end up at the corner where you hop over the wall

Yeah you def don't need to walk past the house. Just down from the wall is a obvious path and gap. Best to also park a few mins walk away then you can be completely undetected

Did she come out and approach you?

I was parked in the normal place and getting my stuff together when she pulled up in her Range Rover. She went off a bit but in the end it came down to her not liking people walking past or being near her property. I thought it best not to antagonise her by pointing out that that was none of her business as she may know the farmer. She did mention that she was going to do her best to stop people going there.

She needs to move to a property not served by roads then, sheesh. Its a public right of way for christ sake.

Looked to me like they treat the verges by their house as part of their garden. They have Cctv too. Jobie's suggestion is a good one to avoid bumping into her.

Isnt there a bit of a paradox* here whereby if access were allowed/climbing were legit/not frowned upon etc.. then parking spots and access routes could be clearly marked, disseminated, even the odd BMC sign or two etc... but because its a bit hush hush - the parking/access parts end up being not passed on... and we get a problem.

*I suspect this isnt the right word but really can't be arsed to think about it much :)

Its not even a problem. This is just a heads up on a disgruntled local with an unjustifiable grievance who is best and quite easily avoided.

Park round the corner from where you start walking in. Don't go up onto the grass verge, walk through the woods. If you can see the house, you are going the wrong way. Unfortunately the woods way is a bit harder to find, but is easy once you've been once

I suspect it might be too windy there to climb!

Everything at curbar was dry and clean on Monday, very windy though, so maybe bring some rocks to hold your pads down with!

Another thing is to approach up the hill and pull over in the layby and chuck your mats over then park up on the top road. Someone did pull over when I did this once and said "You should be ashamed of yourself". Turned out he thought I was fly-tipping a mattress and was really embarrassed when I explained what I was doing.

Judging by the Outside webcam it looks fine. I was thinking the same but the forecast says >85% humidity, which in my experience means it will be shit

Curbar was pleasant in the sun today - but slightly soapy. Greased and pinged off the final crimps of early doors despite them being out of the sun.. :(
