How does Gardom's look after rain? Never been but fancy getting on the grit on Sunday, otherwise I suppose it'll have to be somewhere windy like plantation or burbage south

Just back from secret garden, which was very wet with snow on top. Have family commitments today, so no time to scratch around for other venues but imagine many will be suffering in a similar fashion. There's a fair amount of snow out there that's gradually melting.

but you moved all the snow so that it'll be good for tomorrow, right?

The road from stanage popular up the hill towards burbage north is sheet ice. Just about passable in a bigger car with some confidence but we failed in the little hyundai i20. Just finished reversing/sliding all the way back down.  :doubt:

It's here :)
No snow problems in the southern Peak today. Pleasant in the sun and out of the wind, but almost too cold in the wind and shade. Looks a bit less windy tomorrow so should be perfect.
Any know how the higher edges are doing, and if Ringinglow Road is passable?

Had to ring the police this evening to inform them that the road from Sheffield via #Ringinglow to #Hathersage is a sheet of ice,be careful

probably be the same first thing tomorrow, but might soften up later

I chickened out of going up it this afternoon due to having the kids in the car and the snail-like oncoming line of terrified urban 4x4 folk

Ringinglow is ok if you have some experience of driving on ice and don't meet anyone who doesn't. Unfortunately there are lots of them, so probably quicker to go round.

Ringinglow was a nightmare this afternoon. Would have been a mission to get up - you couldn't even stand up without sliding downhill.

Would have been fine going downhill if it wasn't for all the people panicking, hitting their brakes and sliding sideways. Was carnage for a while.

Ringinglow! What a mess today!!
Mark, I'll be going round tomorrow, it was just sheet ice
Pretty much all of plantation was wet except some bits on the Pebble, half the green traverse and the business

Any ideas where will be good tomorrow? I was ridiculously cold today, as was anyone else. But seemed very mild out the wind

I wanted to and have done in the past but I hadn't anticipated the snow else I'd have had a Broom in the car! ... and I wouldn't have bothered going to secret garden but couldn't resist looking 'just in case'. There wasn't masses of snow on top though. Definitely too much for today but could be a chance for tomorrow?

I visited The Burbage Nation today

Burbage South boulders were disappointingly damp first thing (low cloud and micro precipitation) so I sauntered up to Remergence - stuff there was fine, even the landing puddle was absent. Dead Tree Wall was also OK.

Looked to be an increasing number of cars coming up from Ringinglow

The South/Valley boulders still looked very damp when I went past them on the way home

The entire world and their dog was at Curbar yesterday. Trackside and Gorilla Warfare were swarming. We started at Baslow where Balls Test, and the Wallnut were totally dry and nicely cold (somehow sheltered), then headed over to Bad Landing which was vacant when we got there and was pleasantly cold until the sun set when it got proper baltic.

There were a number of people queueing behind one car which was struggling with the last bit of the road up to Curbar Gap (where it gets steep) when we walked past, but the road from Gardoms was absolutely fine.
