Just back from Gardoms (mid, kidney and north) with Nai..

Good connies - but blustery and cold in the wind. As the wind is due to drop I suspect it'll be good for any early evening/post work raids...

I did wonder about Burbage south but whenever I go it's deserted and I can't be bothered to drag loads of pads there on my own. Maybe tomorrow before the rain...

Man, I wish I had some porters to carry my pads for me - those 500m from the car park are purgatory!

Haha, yes, point taken! I quite enjoy climbing with others though, especially if it means not hauling lots of heavy pads on your own.

I suppose it'll be nice to visit the colder crags that have been too cold and windy to visit when it was properly cold!

Someone on my Facebook feed said they had an early stanage hit and now it's windy and drizzly. I'm going to try the Tor but don't get any signal to report back.

Just been for a run through plantation. Soaked as sideways windy drizzle been blown on from below. There was one optimistic group heading up but I'd be surprised if they got on much

In case any of you organised types are planning a morning hit tomorrow, Burbage North was completely bone dry and have reports that the plantation was too. I'll be staying in bed myself.

If anyone's up at Higgar Tor today, wouldn't mind knowing if the 7A arete near piss and piss are dry. Thinking of a quick hit after work. Thanks.

If its marginal I'd leave this problem for a drier day - as the lower part (below the break) is of a much softer/crumblier grit and seems to suffer much more from damp rock damage than the higher up parts...

Its good though...

He might mean Quintessesntial Higgarisms which is the same buttress as Piss n Shit rather than Flying Arete.  Would imagine they'll both be ok in these connies though shirley, breezy out and will get some sun later?

To be fair, I did mean flying arete. Didn't know there were any other 7A aretes nearby or would have tried to find the arete's name.

Have been told about the crumbly foot on that arete, will leave it if any hint of dampness though as mentioned, glorious day today.

This data source suggests that visibility will improve later on

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/mountain-forecasts/peak-district#?tab=mountainWeather

This source suggests this has already occured in the limestone area

http://www.peakdistrictinformation.com/webcam/images.php

And this one that it has in the South of the region

http://www.matlockbathcam.co.uk/

Either go to the lime or the south or wait

Can the mods delete the above post please? #filth

Stanage was mostly damp this evening - persistent clag hanging around. Curbar was below the cloud and much better.
