Anyone ventured out yet? Can't decide whether to go to somewhere like the roaches instead.

Is there somewhere high that would get above it all?  When I went to kinder the other day we were above all the fog but don't fancy such an epic walk-in today!

looks very damp in the rivelin valley; visibility less than 30m, I was just wondering the same thing...

Winking Man webcam looks very grey, but I might head that way shortly from Glossop then on from there if it's crap.

Well this is the first weekend I've owned a phone capable of accessing the Internet so if I get to a crag first,  I'll post the status of it.

Yesterday was a disappointment. You let me down, Met Office, you let me down.

Today is a similar forecast but looks a lot brighter. Given that the roofs were dry first thing today, and it was clag not serious rain yesterday, I reckon it'll be decent.

Burbage was okay late on, surprisingly mild though.

Bouldered at Remergence and it felt pretty sticky, then positively chilly at Higgar. Think I'll stay indoors :-[

I shall put it to management that we should start treating client work as if it was a computer game

Any update appreciated. I did my part and went hunting yesterday but everything was wet. The works was full of people discussing their failed quests for dry rock.

Anyone in the area keen to offer some wisdom? It rained a lot through the night and fog is forecast, so wondered if there was any hope for dry rock? Or whether it's best left for tomorrow. Ta.

Slim. Brighter spells forecast later, but might not be enough. Sunday looks better.

I'm in Manc too and the sun gave me hope. However, fog on the forecast and a mate near Sheff saying it was raining this morning gave me the fear.

As an aside, do you have a good recommendation for any quick drying stuff with easy access from South Manc?

From S Manc ~ peak (obvs) but also stuff like Brownstones is fairly fast drying and 35-40 min away. Tbh it's not great for near fast drying stuff.

Personally, if my back wasn't ferked i'D be heading to Thorn.. I bet that's out of the clag.. But it's a bit of a drive and a walk!

West seems best today. Bowland grit might be a good option, but I'm feeling too lazy to make the trip.

Easy access from S. Manchester - wouldn't Hobson Moor be your backup crag? Normally I'd suggest Blackstone Edge, but I heard the clag is in north Calderdale so it would be a bit risky. Might go there tomorrow.

Sunny in Bolton, so Brownstones will be dry. I'm heading to Wilton 1 which has a few fast drying walls.

Hobby moor can be seepy - esp the back wall which (let's face it) has the best probs/traverse..
