Contemplating a trip over from western this morning to head to either Burbage South or Stanage Apparent North – is it dry that way?

Yeah, looks like great conditions. Burb S might be a bit green tho, the crag is slow to dry.

Just bailed from Curbar. Damp. gW pit soaking (won't dry) trackside ok but rest of trackside Boulder damp but slowly drying. Others there said Plantation was log too. Kids, I'd go to the plastic today..

Funny connies at Burbage West this afternoon..  West Side felt pretty good but I couldn't do ANY of the easy warm up probs on the slab/wall left of the nose! Felt really glassy and I slip slided away on those slopers...

Any gurus like to hazard a guess at tomorrow's conditions? Met Office forecast is for mist much of the day. What is more likely, glorious cloud inversion or clag on the tops?

Planning to go grit bouldering somewhere in the south or east Peak.

Tom are you on sabbatical or some other academic wheeze? It's not that I'm jealous, but I am.

the only dry bits of rock I managed to climb on today were unsuitable for the purpose of making me look better than Lagers

It was weird on Thurs - really windy, but nothing seemed to be drying fast... just too humid...

Rubbish weather at the moment. Wheres that nice blocking high pressure....

Weather looks lovely outside here in S7 and has been since lunch time, doesn't necessarily mean it's good in the Peak though...

I'd image that tomorrow would be a better bet than Sunday though? I wouldn't personally recommend the long drive, I've discouraged one of my good friends coming up due to shit weather. I'm going to risk the 15 minute drive tomorrow though... ;)

The fog is forecast worse in the north and east. Staffs might be ok (check Flashbar and Winking Man webcams before setting out to conform one way or the other), a more likely bet would be the Churnet. Fog tends to be highly localised and variable in how much it wets crags - all you can do is keep checking webcams and looking out the window on how wet roads and walls are.
