was up at The Plantation today. Danny's was dry

Walk up ok? #badankle

walk was Ok - good path through the snowy bits - I had to use sticks, but would have done whatever the state of the path - you norms will be fine

my main concern was the walk back down, but this was OK

actually, my main concern was not fucking up Dolly's climbing day like I did the last time we were out

Walk up is fine, just take your time (my ankle isn't fully healed yet and I had no problems)

Had a play on Sole Power at Froggatt yesterday. Conditions were great, but you need to pick your problems carefully as there is still plenty of snow.

Higgar was almost totally snowless on Saturday and I would imagine Burbage West is similar.

but if you must, Burb W and Higgar are snow free, there's prob others that locals will fill you in on.

Rivelin was fine and sheltered on Monday (as you might expect!)

Gardoms North was snow free on monday, wind chill was pretty bad, but if the wind drops should be fine.

Cold wind in Sheff atm. Expect/hope it will counteract the warmth of the sun

Just got back from a morning at Curbar.  Boulders are all snow free and wind keeping things nice and grippy.

For my fellow punters - Burbage South boulders are clean and dry

the only real difference that the snow made this evening was that The Sheep has a bit of snow under it meaning that the landing is flatter and slightly higher than usual - probably be gone after tomorrow

Does anybody know what the conditions at eatswood are like? And is the traverse dry?
Cheers
John

Was there on spotting duty on Tues. Some melting snow on the crag top but all the main bouldering dry. Bit of snow under the last bit of the traverse but not an issue. Drive in and parking in main layby all clear.

Probably looking at some snow free trad for the weekend. Any ideas on a snow free location that will be out of the wind? I'm afraid I'm not really that familiar with conditions on Peak crags.

The forecast for the weekend is showing light winds. I think melt from top snow might be a bigger issue than snow on routes on most crags at the weekend. Low crags (e.g. Cratcliffe, Black Rocks, Rivelin, Cocking Tor) will be less affected than high ones, but might feel quite hot if it's sunny with low wind. Higgar is also clear.
If you've not done any of the trad at Cratcliffe I'd put that at the top of your list.

Is the Gardoms crag circuit likely to be condition?

Higgar is also clear.

Bar the section immediately left of the Leaning Block which had water cascading off it all day today.

I'd have thought it will be in very good nick. Barring snow it's been dry for over two weeks. Random bits might have melt on, but most things not I'd reckon.

Any chance there's still snow at Chip Shop Brawl, or has it all melted?
