Minty in Sheffield this morning if anyone's heading out Eastside. Quite a lot of frost about.

My "dry rock indicator" in the back yard says dry, although the frost may keep some things a bit damp. Defo worth heading out after 11/12 I reckon, if not earlier somewhere sunny!

Enjoy!

Random enquiry - anyone been up to The Eaglestone at Baslow recently that could give a report on the flooded-ness of said boulder's landings?

Heading over on Sunday and wanted to know possibility of doing Fistful of Beagles, Where Beagles Dare etc without needing waders.

was there last sunday and it was pretty wet. but with this dry weather and frost imagine it will be fine really, although the 7A and 7B to the left of the groove might prove to be the exceptions.

Cheers guys - it's really Where Beagles Dare and whatever the one on the eggshell crimps to the left is (I forget the name as there are so many related Beagle puns!)...

Pretty claggy out there today - most stuff still dry but the lichen is soaking up the humidity fast.

Grab a couple of pallets from a building site in your way in as insurance.

Yes, most things in decent nick, lichen holding a bit of moisture and a little sandy. Jerry's dry and T Crack still too hard.

[Edit] I only went to the top section so have no idea what it was like in the woods.[/Edit]

Where Beagles Dare was fine- climbers on it. The Beagle Has Landed (eggshell crimps one) looked a bit boggy but not full-on moat status. The other side wasn't looking so good.

Quite snowy in Hathersage (obviously), but it's melted off the main roads certainly. More precipitation due in a few hours, but not sure if rain or snow. Might be time to resurrect Snow Proof Probs List?

Weather for tomorrow looks amazing!

The top out (WBD) was green and slimey on Sunday :( I tried (3 times) but failed... back of the break where it felt like there were better holds was a slime pit...

Hope you got some practice in ascending the Beagle stone in light of your forthcoming change in marital status. :P

Isn't it the chipped side, but without dislodging sardine cans balanced on the chipped holds that earns the right of passage/a maidens fair hand?

(Have vague recollections this is how its written up in the Froggatt 1991 guide).

I was trying to recall similar yesterday but that's about as far as I got - forgot the sardine can bit!

curbar was pretty wet with melt water this aternoon, cleared the bad landing boulder though which was drying as i left. on the snowballing front i've made a levelling landing on tin drum up on the edge (not massive but safe with 3-4 pads now). both seans arete and committed were dry aswell, so its probs a good bet for tomorrow.

I thought you just had to climb it by the easiest route and the sardine key test is a blue problem at Cuvier, the doing of which gives you authentic 'bleusard' status.
