Any thoughts on whether Dick Williams will be dry tomorrow?  Am travelling up from Bristol and need something inspirational (and dry!) to get on to kick off the new year.

Its not a tremendously fast drying problem and doesn't get the wind, but unlike some stuff there it doesn't take any drainage either so you might be lucky. I wouldn't bank on it though.

Like dave says, not a safe choice for current conditions. I tend to save secret garden for very cold or very windy days.

Cheers, thought as much.  How's about Boyager or Monocrome etc, otherwise a recommendation for something of that ilk/grade that is likely to be dry.

Both a bit in the wood and damp prone and prone to hill fog in this weather (depends on how much wind).
Depending on how wet stuff gets overnight and how much wind you could have lots of options or very few. If the worst comes to the worst Rivelin, Shining Cliff, Black Rocks, Matlock Bank Quarries, Bits of Stanton Moor, Clifftop Boulder are all good fallbacks.
My top tip as ever for this kind of weather is Filthy Q (look it up on peakbouldering.info). Compact and very quick drying, catches any wind going. A good bunch of chunky but doable prowy 7s. Avoid it though if properly windy as it gets too cold.

Thanks again.  Might try clifftop as i've been meaning to complete the low traverse for years but never got round to going back.

Curbar was fine today, started off a wee bit greasy and felt too warm but by mid afternoon in the breeze was really good friction-wise.  Was on Art of Japan, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Downhill Gardener, Last Light, UGE (this had a bit of damp green on the top but I was on it earlier on).

Couple of weeks ago I went to the Secret Garden on a similar day to today to find Left-Hand Man in really good nick.  I tried again today (so close to success that I have become unable to be objective about conditions) but sadly it and everything else was wet, or damp, to some degree.
Shame the guys trying the Harder Side didn't decide go elsewhere but then they thought they were about to tick Dick Williams.  Not sure how you could misread a guide to such a degree but apparently you can.

Mother Cap was really pleasant, Mother's Pet was dry but a scrittle-fest (first time there so it may always be).

We wandered the whole of Stanage today, surprised about how wet it was escecially seen as it caught the wind. Most stuff was dry from about 2 onwards though. :)

Mother's Pet was dry but a scrittle-fest (first time there so it may always be).
It's prone to scrittle if not fully dry. Often needs whacking with a rag after rain or if it's not been climbed on for a while, but on good days it's then solid.

Curbar t'was good. Bad Landing was caked in chalk though, can only assume someone was desperate to dry every hold on it yesterday.
Anyone been to rowtor or cratcliffe or could offer a prediction for tomorrow morning/lunchtime?
cheers

Moorside Rocks and Suavito at Gardoms South both in reasonable condition today.  Didn't look at anything else at Gardoms as a flyer from the top of Suavito resulted in me hopping back to the car.

Clifftop was good today apart from a big wet streak down the middle of the right wall.  The low traverse finishing up Cracker block was in good nick and duly sent.

The lower tier of the roaches was soaking and most of the good stuff at the top was damp around the bottom.

Milky Buttons/Tetris/Trust were dry but I guess they usually are...

Gardoms South was dry today, Suavito in good nick.
Gardoms edge problems seemed abit damp with a good layer of lichen (Fearful oranege and Two headed boy)
Gardoms north bouldering was mostly wet, some guys on a low roof. Marks wet. Soft on the G just about dry but bad conditions.
Eagle Stone, lovely conditions although the backs of the jugs/ slopers on the dyno's were abit wet and green. Top outs very green and scrittly. Ground conditions... Shite. Although with a tarp the dyno's and the 7B would be fine. Hope this helps someone  :)
