I got out the car at Apparent North and got straight back in.  Went to Secret Garden where surprisingly only Zaffs -> Beachball were wet, everything left of the crack was really good until the cloud cover came at about 3ish when friction just vanished.

#951 General Peak Dryness
December 26, 2012, 01:01:18 pm
Looks like I'll have a couple of days free pass from parental and other duties next week before term starts...

Most likely Tues/Wed or Thurs (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

Any chance of anything being dry up in the Peak - probably limestone I would guess but if there's some dry grit then grand

Cheers

Fuck Minus 10

Heeley North Boulder was dry on the steep side this morning - topouts still wet

pub was shut though - dry in that sense

little lad winding up for his first go at a French jump start - he reckons that chalk and pads are unnecessary for someone of his stature and determination

There's every chance of dry gritstone.

The best option would be to keep your eye on the forecast nearer the time. Despite plenty of rain over the past few days Burbage was in pretty good nick today before it started raining again.

There are plenty of quick drying gritstone crags. I'd be surprised if even minus ten is holding out against seepage at the moment.

Cheers all
I'll keep an eye on the forecast and keep the fingers crossed.
Any updates (and lists of quick drying grit!) most gratefully received.

Trackside boulder was OK

I know my optimism levels are set to extreme, but how's it currently looking? Forecast is set to deteriorate though...

I'd stay in tonight and get up early tomorrow morning (nothing much going on - its a Monday night) as the forecasts much better ;)

Parts of Burbage west were holding out today. Might be worth a look  tomorrow.

Shining Cliff was in good nick and not getting rained on yesterday till about 3pm. Always a good option on marginal showery/drizzly days.

Looking very misty and grey peakwards from S1, and this may explain why (always worth checking).
