It did look that way, I stupidly didn't have a snow shovel. Instead we limped around a number of crags that were all streaky.

Right of Apparent North also looked a safe bet, and the boulder with the slopey lip traverse further left.

Pretty drifty at burbage north, but kinda shit wet snow. Burbage west almost entirely snow free.

Good tip off Cofe (and JB), luckily someone remembered to take a shovel with them  ;).

Ai No Corrida saw a couple of ascents this afternoon (and one spectacular dismount).

A bit of snow below Three Blind Mice but not as much as in previous years, should be doable though. I also dug out a bit of a landing beneath Puck.

Get to it people #BurbageBigFriday

Curbar was mostly covered in run-off today with lots of slushy snow everywhere along the bottom.  Over half the routes at Froggatt also suffering from run-off.  Got some stuff done though and the snow was visibly disappearing by late afternoon (still quite a bit left though).
Thinking about tomorrow and wanting to avoid any more run-off - any reports from elsewhere?

Stanage was greasy early on but got better throughout the day. We built a platform under Daydreamer, and half a platform under Shock Horror. Felt cold this eve so should be plenty left for a few highballs tomorrow.

Felt like four seasons in one day at Stanage today. Sunny spells. Intermittent very light drizzle and even a tiny bit of sleet. Although that might sound terrible the friction was surprisingly good at points and it should be a good day tomorrow.

I've got 10 days camping in the Peak from the18th May, please tell me there is a glimmer of hope on the long term forecast and my entire family aren't going to be trying to string me up from the nearest tree.

Achy knees or pine cone forecasts especially welcome.

I consulted my Crystal Ball and it said that since i have lots of work to do until the 27th of may it will be perfect weather for 2 weeks before that. And then when I'm free to climb the rain will come back.

So it might rain on your last day, but the rest of the time it will be nice.

According to Metcheck's The Year ahead, you might be in luck. Of course this is Britain, and we've just had two record breaking months, so you might want to include a barrel load of salt with that.

That corresponds pretty accurately to my normal experience for the end of May, never knew it was a Fore-monsoon before.

A man down the pub told me it was going to be the coldest May since monkeys started walking...

Nice south easterly breeze so stanage, b north. Curbar trackside could take a little longer as it doesn't catch as much wind, up on curbar crag would be good. And so on

Nice breeze this afternoon at burbage south with the occasional bit of sunshine,
boulders dry but the edge had some wet sections.
