Tried to drive past burbage this morning and it was clear as far as the end of the plantation just after ringinglow. From here it may be passable, I carried on a bit after this, there are tyre groves cut so looks like a few have managed, but I chickened out when the snow started touching the under side of my car. I'd say if you went for it you'd probably be ok. Hope that is some help, let us know how you get on

I went about as far, the road was a bit slippery but not too bad, managed it even in my city car. Turned round just at the top of the run down to hooks, so unsure of conditions beyond here. the road along millstone looked fine. there is a lot of slush about so i figure it is likely to freeze to ice during the night.

Good effort! I had a walk along Stanage. With the wind from the west its not drifting like it did last year, but you never know.

Flatworld dry today. Looks like most of the snow is melting though. Anywhere full in the wind and high should stay be ok.

No, its overcast and windy but looks like the Peak will stay dry today save for the far north-west.

Hmm, scrub that, looks like its spreading down to hit the Eastern Edges now. Will dry instantly though in these winds. Tomorrow looks like case of dodging showers. Rain radar is your friend as ever.

it's fooked...

i'm inclined to look at the wind in the trees and the severe storm warnings... and hear the slates on me roof.. with the rain lashing the windows.

empiricism is so conventional

Hopefully this wind driven rain and pellets will clean a lot of the chalk off (I have no recent observations of the rock itself to lead me to such a conclusion, but the scattered remains of next door's fence have landed in a pattern that fortells clean rock in the near future and a red stranger bearing gifts)

Remind me what the snow-proof problems were from last winter? Was there a thread somewhere...

From what i could see on the way home, curbar had a little amount of snow but the burbage valley and stanage looked like they had a good amount. Going to be trying to get up to stanage tomorrow to have a look at No More Excuses and other routes if anyone wants to join?

Not convinced there will be any significant drifts, but I'll definitely be out if its dry.

I wouldn't pin your hopes on doing anything at Stanage or Burbage today. There's a few inches of snow on the ground and most stuff is suffering from run off.

Remergence area is damp. Giza was dry but only presumably only because of the strong wind. I don't imagine it would be much fun in these conditions. Terrace mostly dry apart from the top. Having said all that it did start snowing again when I left Burbage around 10 o'clock.

West Side Story looked dry but I didn't wander over there.

Ringinglow road is icy but passable. Main roads are fine.
